SENATE CANDIDATE VISITS WICHITA FALLS.

Railroad Commissioner Elizabeth Ames Jones visited Wichita Falls as part of her initial announcement tour of Texas. Commissioner Jones will retun to wichita Falls on March 12 to visit with Republicans attending the Founder's Day BBQ Celebration.

TEXAS SENATE PASSES VOTER ID BILL
After the Governor provided the Legislature a "fast track" message for the voter ID Bill (SB 18) the Texas Senate quickly passed the bill and forwarded it to the House for action. The bill, co-sponsord by Sen. Craig Estes, provides clear and distinct guidelines on photo id required to be presented at the votingt booth.

SEN KAY BAILEY-HUTCHISON HAS ANNOUNCED SHE WILL NOT SEEK RE-ELECTION

Sen. Kay, our long-time Senator has announced she will return home at the end onf her term in 2012. Her announcement has sparked a lot of excitement among those waiting in the wings to suceed her.

2010 CENSUS RESULTS BEING RELEASED.
The Census Bureau has begun to release official 2010 census results to the states. Results for four states have been released as of this date and all are required to be released by April 1st. Official results are required before the state legislatures can complete design of re-districting required to re-align State and Congressional District boundaries to reflect movement of America's population. The results also have major impact on the allocation of billions of dollars in "aid" provided to state and local governments byt the federal government.
